What’s the most comfortable dog harness?
Looking for a padded dog harness? Trixie Flex Mesh, Premium Touring, Rose Print, Arctic Fox and Hem & Boo Sports all have padding, and X-Link is lightweight and ultra soft.
Which dog harness with handle should I choose?
Hem & Boo Sports, Woofingdales Peak Paw and X-Link all have a grab handle for extra control on walks.
What should I look for in a no pull dog harness?
A front D-ring gives a second attachment point for front-lead walking, which some owners use alongside training for dogs that pull. Woofingdales Peak Paw has a front clip for anti-pull redirection training, Hem & Boo Sports has a chest clip that tames pulling, and X-Link has a front D-ring. No harness replaces training.
What’s the best harness for a puppy?
Adjustability matters most while they grow. Rose Print and Arctic Fox are suitable for puppies and dogs, and Arctic Fox starts at XXS. Trixie Flex Mesh sits in our puppy range too.
Where can I buy a dog harness in the UK?
We send every dog harness UK-wide, dispatching within 1 working day, with delivery usually 2-5 working days. Free over £35, otherwise £3.50, plus click and collect and local delivery from our Brownhills and Lichfield shops.

Help with Harnessess
How to measure your dog
- Measure while your dog is standing, with the tape snug but not tight.
- Neck: around the neck, where a collar would sit.
- Chest: around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.
- Chest length: along the line shown in our diagram.
- Once the harness is on, you should be able to fit two fingers between the straps and your dog.
- Size up if between sizes. The ranges overlap, and the adjustable neck and chest straps give you room to fine-tune.
How to fit a harness
- Identify the parts of the harness
- Back panel: the larger section that sits over your dog’s back, with a D-ring for the lead.
- Chest strap: the adjustable strap that goes across your dog’s chest.
- Side buckles: clip the harness closed around your dog’s body.
- Front D-ring (on some styles): an optional lead attachment for training or to reduce pulling.
- Adjust the harness before fitting
- Loosen the straps so it’s easier to put on.
- Hold the harness upright, with the back panel facing up and the chest panel facing forward.
- Put the harness on your dog
- Guide your dog’s front legs through the openings, so the chest panel sits on their chest.
- Pull the straps up around their body and clip the side buckles together.
- Adjust for a snug fit
- Tighten or loosen the straps as needed. It should fit snugly, with two fingers’ width of space between the harness and your dog’s body.
- Check the back panel sits securely on your dog’s back without sliding.
- Attach the lead
- Use the back D-ring for everyday walks.
- If your harness has a front D-ring, use it for training or to reduce pulling.
- Check fit and comfort
- Double-check that all buckles and straps are secure.
- Make sure the harness doesn’t rub or chafe your dog’s skin.
Harness safety tips
Safety Tips
