Description
Why Underbelly Protection Actually Matters
Cold ground, wet grass, and puddle splashback all hit a dog’s belly first — often the most exposed, least-insulated part of their body. This is genuinely one of the better lightweight waterproof dog coats with underbelly protection we stock, thanks to its adjustable elastic bib that shields the chest and belly from drafts and damp trail dirt.
It’s built as a transitional jacket, so it’s light enough for milder autumn and spring days without overheating your dog on a brisker but not bitter walk.
Does It Work With a Harness?
Yes — an integrated zip opening on top means your dog’s own harness slots in easily underneath, so you’re not choosing between warmth and their usual walking gear. Looking for the harness itself? Take a browse through our Dog Harnesses range.
Ideal for nervous or head-shy dogs – The hook-and-loop fastening at the chest and belly means there’s no pulling anything over your dog’s head —. The slim, tailored cut hugs the body neatly without pinching or restricting movement, and it’s fully machine washable at 30°C for easy care. Curious what else might suit your dog? Browse our full Dog Coats range too.
This swaps “Dog Walking and Outdoors” for the more directly relevant Dog Harnesses page, which ties in naturally with the harness-compatibility point right above it. Everything else stays as last finalized.

How to Measure Your Dog
- Back Length: Measure in a straight line along the spine from the base of the neck to the base of the tail while standing
- Stomach Girth: Measure around the widest part of your dog’s abdomen/deep ribcage
- Neck Girth: Measure around the base of the neck where a standard collar sits
Tip: The Arlay features a flexible, highly adjustable elastic underbelly bib. If your dog falls right on the boundary between two sizes, opt for the larger size for plenty of unrestrictive clearance during high-speed running.
